SERVICE: I forgot the name of our waiter but he was a great guy, just loved where he worked and what he did. Even further he could see himself there for the long haul saying that he loved Santa Fe. That town is something to experience for sure and the food is just amazing too. He is the one reason that an 8 was scored!!!! I should also note that service was fast, food hot, and we were both greeted and thanked for coming.

AMBIENCE: There is something said for a joint that is a little hard to find, frequented mostly by locals and decor surprises you as it exceeds what you see on the outside. Comfortable family dining style slightly noisy but it does not detract. They even had very clean bathrooms :) I am giving it a solid, slightly better than expectations. Can work for a romantic dinner for two or a girls night out drinking.

APPEARANCE: Awesome; the size, colors, and everything just worked. I kinda wish I added some meat once I saw the platter, I can just imagine what some charred steak would add. There was more than one layer so the plate mounded a bit too, and you know that is a must.

TASTE: Balance is one aspect of creating the perfect platter of nachos. This platter came close but I would knock the amount of toppings, just a tad much. This ended up adding to the liquid factor too causing the chips to not last as long as they could. All that said, the chips had great taste, the cheese was perfect, and what topping there were has amazing taste, including the guacamole according to my wife. I gave an 8 for one potential change. I recommend that customers have the choice of red or green sauce AND GET THE GREEN! Man that is an over the top taste!!! Best I have ever had.

VALUE: Pricing was good, not an exceptional value but inline with what a locals would pay at one of their better joints. Honestly, they could probably charge a $1 more and get away with it. Going back to balance the portion was right for the price too, just right for two to share, maybe more. Also note that this may be the only opportunity to actually see Mrs Nacho Hunter!!!!!!!!!! So enjoy the video.

Description: Part of the 2015 Southwest road trip, this was the second opportunity to get nachos. La Choza is by far a better option than The Shed you find in downtown Santa Fe.... just hope you can find the place and don't show up late!!! These were really good nachos as you will see, the only problem was they were out-shined by the blue corn tacos with green sauce.
