This is a regular place for me as it was close to my work. for over 10 years I have eaten here probably 20+ times and had the nachos 7-8 of them. You will see I was surprised at the portion but as it turns out they sized it for one, not the standard platter for 3-4. Price however was the same so that effected the value in my score. The standout for St Hames is the venue, it is just a great place to eat, even when it's packed with people dancing to Salsa on a Sunday evening. There is enough room outside for a group to hand out and drink beer with their nachos. Speaking of beer, there are plenty of options both on tap and in the bottle at St James. On to the nachos: The chips are solid and stood up well, not exceptional but good enough to last. The chicken was good but I have had moister in the past; and the toppings are as expected. In the past I have been given the FULL platter when ordering for one and toppings were already on, having everything on the side is ok but not what I like. Please don't pass this place up if you are in the area. It's worth the ping pong, two large bars and the perpetual sunshine we get here on the peninsula.

My buddy David H tipped me off to this place. David said these were solid and worth the drive to SJ. Well David, I got news for you brotha. I think you need to raise the bar just a tad more. Don't get me wrong, these were some good nachos, but they did not measure up to the expectation. So let's get to it; how good were they? Iguanas was just a bit better than average for a joint that mostly does takeout for the working crowd and college students. They were priced to target that audience yet I feel they could have offered a bit larger portion to make the value better. Nothing that special about how they looked either lacking the color of salsa or red onion etc... The one bonus is the location, some good parking options and outdoor seating under some shade trees make your nacho eating experience a pleasure. Service was better than expected. With the many options, the cashier was more than glad to give a run down and make a few suggestions. The double cheese was one and I wish I had taken that option. I was also able to check out the restroom and can report it was very clean. If you were in the area for a meeting, or FANIME or taking a class at city collage then this joint is within walking distance and would be a good bet, even with the large variety of competition for your dollars. David.... next time I'm taking you for some serious nachos, just so you know where I'm coming from :) .

The Nacho Hunter heads to Redwood city for his weekly fix. When hunger hits and nothing but nachos will do, head to this "joint".... ha ha ha ha; for some seriously cheesy nacho goodness. Let it be known, that contrary to the title The Nacho Hunter was not under the influence for this review.... but who knows what the future holds. Value was spot on, a bit better than most joints in the area for comparable offerings. That said, unfortunately the appearance was not so hot, but then again I did get the take out version. I have never done a platted version there so I guess there will be a return trip some time in the future. The ambiance of my Infinity G37 is nice but to eat nachos and record a video.... not so much. Even if you sit at the counter, you are street side and people looking at you eat from inside..... meh Taste is what I expected, these were stoner nachos so its about extra cheese, messy eating, and quantity of meat. Everything was very good from the taste perspective. Service is lacking, they are a taqueria and its about getting it out fast and get the money. If you want to see The Nacho Hunter eat stoned nachos actually stoned then make comments or send emails.
