My perfect day is out and about in San Francisco doing Street Photography. I have been an active photographer for the better part of my life, AND loved nachos for the same period, they go hand and hand. On this day I decided to wait in line (a good 15min) to get some nachos that were on my bucket list. Even better, it was a sunny day and they did not disappoint. Señor Sisig has been on the food radar of many including Guy Fieri so if you have not given them a shot please do. Tip for tourists: They have a truck by the Cable Car turnaround on Market Street just down from Union Square every now and then.

Ok, so here I go again with another chain restaurant breaking my rules. Well this time I have a reason. Recently I saw a review of the best and worst chain nachos. So I am going to try and match that review as best I can to see if they are as good as the Hunter in reviewing nachos.

This is a regular place for me as it was close to my work. for over 10 years I have eaten here probably 20+ times and had the nachos 7-8 of them. You will see I was surprised at the portion but as it turns out they sized it for one, not the standard platter for 3-4. Price however was the same so that effected the value in my score. The standout for St Hames is the venue, it is just a great place to eat, even when it's packed with people dancing to Salsa on a Sunday evening. There is enough room outside for a group to hand out and drink beer with their nachos. Speaking of beer, there are plenty of options both on tap and in the bottle at St James. On to the nachos: The chips are solid and stood up well, not exceptional but good enough to last. The chicken was good but I have had moister in the past; and the toppings are as expected. In the past I have been given the FULL platter when ordering for one and toppings were already on, having everything on the side is ok but not what I like. Please don't pass this place up if you are in the area. It's worth the ping pong, two large bars and the perpetual sunshine we get here on the peninsula.

Ok, so it was a nice sunny day I knew that Sancho's had really good tacos from previous visits, so I figured the nachos would be just as good. The tricky thing about nachos is that what looks like a great at first can go bad very fast. Note that i gave some nice average marks for this review. The taste was good, the settings was ok, they looked good at first, but they just forgot the number one rule in nachos; IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CHIPS!!!! Your chips must be crunchy and be able to hold up for at least the majority of the meal. There should never be a pool of liquid at the bottom of the plate. I may go back one day and give these guys a second chance but with so many other choices in that area it could be a few months. If any Hunters have a better experience there please do a second review or make a comment below.
